DIANA OPOTI
Diana Opoti is a producer, PR consultant and style influencer. She is the founder of Diana Opoti PR, Kenya’s first and only fashion communications and brand strategy consultancy. She is also the creative mind behind 100 Days of African fashion campaign, which is a social media campaign promoting the diversity of fashion in Africa through local designers.
Opoti was born in Nairobi where she studied PR and communications at Daystar University. In 2008 she enrolled in the media world as host for TV shows Africa Rising and ZindukaSasa. Her activities motivated her to seek opportunities behind the scenes leading her to a position as senior content producer. The tv personality continued ahead with her own media consultancy company in 2012. The company named Artemis media produced her exclusive fashion format ‘Designing Africa with Diana Opoti’, where Diana travels the continent to explore Africa’s fashion capitals and find the latest trends and people shaping the industry.
Diana became a style influencer when she started her campaign, 100 Days of African fashion in 2014, featuring clothes from 100 different brands across the continent. The successful campaign aiming to creating a link between designers and the everyday buyer led her into becoming one of the most recognizable figures in African fashion, while running a fashion PR agency and increasing her online reach.
The PR guru launched the platform/store Designing Africa collective in 2017, aiming to guide African designers within the Kenyan consumer market.
